STYLISTOCRATS, MEET THE REAL SEX IN THE CITY CARRIE—MS. ANNA DELLO RUSSO
February 23, 2010
Thats one Bold statement huh??? Well it’s true peeps! Be it fringes, feathers, bold colors, extreme shoulders, cocktail attire in broad daylight … nothing seems to phase Anna dello Russo, Fashion Director At Large, Vogue Nippon and perennial favorite of bloggers like ourselves of everyday street style.
Stylistocrat by R&R saw her recently @fashion week in all the most of everyone fashion-forward…her ensembles put togther by herself, resembles the best straight off the runway look anyone can do. Anna usually accessorizes her look with a pair of vertiginous heels and eye-catching statement jewelry (many pieces by David Webb and Bulgari).
We dont know how she does it…well i guess we actually do since she’s the Fashion Director At Large, Vogue Nippon, but she frequently looks like she’s stepped straight off the pages of an high fashion editorial spread.
While we at Stylistocrat by R&R admire her style a great deal… I must admit, when I first discovered Anna dello Russo via The Sartorialist, I didnt know who she was!!!! However, her unique look intrigued me slightly enough with her drop down sense of style.
Anna’s ensembles at first seemed just a teensy bit flirty and youthful for her age, but once you see her you realize it’s just Anna.
But like most the intrigue in Anna soon gave way to fascination and eventually, full on admiration both for her “balls out I’m gonna wear what I want to wear sense of style” but more importantly for the fact that she seems to be genuinely having fun with her fashions.
While Stylistocrat by R&R are major fans of Anna Wintour and admire what she has accomplished for the American fashion industry during her tenure at American Vogue, We’ve never sensed that she enjoys fashion with quite the same enthusiasm as dello Russo (at least if she does, she doesn’t show it).

Like the title says Anna dello Russo is perhaps more in the mold of Carrie Bradshaw than even Sarah Jessica Parker in the sense that she has a definite knack for making her enthusiasm for fashion infectious.
Watching her makes me want to try a little harder, be a little bolder, take more risks. Most definitely something for our female readers to aspire to
. Ciao Anna…looking great as usual!
