So Stylistocrat by R&R was searching the web and came across our main man Yancy Wilkinson’s posting and immediately said, “What is this?”

Yup, its a Mini Cooper. For 2011 Mini has unveiled the coupe and roadster concepts. These pocket-sized two-seaters are headed for production and eventual sale in the United States, according to corporate parent BMW.

Thing is these 2 new additions are a pretty clever strategy, since the Mini’s iconic design seems to have no end of appeal. Consider, too, that this gives BMW a channel to market premium small cars to a population that is in no position to buy a new, increasingly pricey BMW this year…or maybe ever.

The coupe and roadster look a little stubby, as if a Mini could look evern more stubby , but they are around the same size as a regular Mini, admittedly with the clearly slightly lower roofline. Disposing of the rear seats makes for more luggage (or roof-stowage) space.

I sent the concept pics to our friend Victoria who has a Mini; she wasnt really impressed but then again she is a diehard Mini traditionalist. So it begs to ask will this new concept sell those those who already love the brand? Maybe? The new Mini’s are equipped with the BMW’s largest 1.6-liter turbo engine offering, but we expect the production model will also offer the thriftier normally aspirated engines, as well so your pocket wont be hurting to much.
